Differences Between Conservatives and Liberals

American Principals

Why are politicians out of favor in America?  It is because they do not stand for principals, or the principals that they represent are contrary to those on which this country was founded.  This country was founded on true principals.  It was founded on the experience of societies throughout the ages.  These principals centered on three basic rights from which all others emanate.  These include the rights of Life, Liberty, and Property.  Society can only pursue happiness when these rights are fully protected.  The basic concept of these principals is that the individual is the most important unit in society, followed by the family, then your neighborhood, and so on to the nation.  These principals are outlined in the Constitution and Bill of Rights.  These documents create specific borders for the federal government to ensure that it cannot encroach on individual’s rights.  There is a reason that much of the language of these documents is negative.  They are a protection for all, and therefore specify what cannot be done by the government.  This is on purpose.   It is to put forth the idea that government is to be controlled, and therefore does not have rights or responsibilities to provide, except within carefully defined parameters. Gun Rights and Interstate Commerce

In Montana and now Utah, legislation has been introduced that questions the ATF’s power to regulate weapons that are manufactured, sold, and used within state boundaries.  The purpose of this legislation is two-fold. 

The first goal for this legislation is to once again bring to light the rights all Americans have when it comes to self-armament.  The fact is that the federal nor state governments have any right to regulate what individuals use to arm and protect themselves with.  The Constitution does not provide any restriction on types of weapons to be allowed the people.  In fact, it specifically stated that the federal government is unauthorized to meddle in this area!  I have already discussed this in another post. Third Party Rising?

I came across this today while searching other conservative blogs, and must say I am very impressed!  I am not decided on the best course of action for reform our nation, whether it be through the Republican party or a new party.  The benefit of the using the Republicans is that they, as Glenn Beck has stated, already have the framework in place.  However, this existing framework has a stigma attached to it that many find distasteful.  It would be best that the reformist movement be open to left and right wing individuals that love the constitution and our country.  All this said I would like to share this new “American Federalist Party” platform being developed online.  It is very interesting and in many ways a perfect example of the concerns of We the People. Leno, Damon, Tennis Balls, and the Declaration of Independence

I found it of unique interest that Matt Damon, while reciting the Declaration of Independence, and juggling tennis balls on Leno’s show, stated that the “best part” is as follows:

That whenever any Form of Government becomes destructive of these ends, it is the Right of the People to alter or to abolish it, and to institute new Government, laying its foundation on such principles and organizing its powers in such form, as to them shall seem most likely to effect their Safety and Happiness.

It is somewhat concerning that a progressive would find such a statement to be so interesting, being that the current administration is doing just that.  They are fundamentally changing this country to be more reflective of their desires in government.  The problem is the government they are constructing is very oppressive of freedom and denies many personal liberties in the name of making a certain few comforts more available.

…and Entitlement for all!

Under the rule of Nature’s God, all mankind is born with three basic entitlements.  These entitlements are declared proudly in our Nation’s Declaration of Independence.  They are the motto of this website, and include: Life, Liberty, and the pursuit of Happiness.  In the arrogance of our modern Nation, we as a people have fooled ourselves into believing we are entitled to so much more!  We have come to believe that it is our right to have a roof over our head, a right to be cared for at the hospital, and a right to eat ourselves into obesity.  The list goes on, for some it is longer, and others it is short.  However, it is a lie that we have told ourselves to believe they are guarranteed, or even should be!  The crumbling wreck that our Nation has become is in great part attributed to this social attitude.  The offloading of these personal responsibilities, and that is truly what these luxuries are, to the state and federal government, is simply an adolescent attempt to shirk reality and live under the comfort of another’s direction.  This societal desire is exactly what has brought to us our current circumstance.
